Overview of the project and expected outcomes
- Project description: The objective of
the Smart cadie project consists of developing a “smart” caddie allowing
blind persons to go shopping in supermarket independently.
- Keywords: ubiquitous computing, localization
and navigation systems, context-aware computing, information systems,
handicapped interface, etc.
- Outcomes: such a system consists of an
interface adapted to blind persons, a navigation system in the store as
well as a proximity information system on products. So the blind person
can move in the store and look for the products which he want to buy in a
autonomous way, that is without the help of a third person.
