Overview

MISG research activities have been structured around our main scientific competences domains that are presented in the following paragraph. Moreover regular meetings are organized among people who work on the same competence domain in order to enhance communication as well as foster valuable knowledge exchange and experience sharing between different research projects.

  1. Smart Environments and Human-Computer Interaction: this axis is related to the design and the development of smart every day technologies that are sensitive and responsive to the presence of people and that can improve human well-being by making it possible for people to interact with their environment in a seamless, trustworthy and natural manner.
  2. Multimedia Information Management and eGovernment: Information Management refers to the process of modeling, retrieving, visualizing and transforming data with the goal of highlighting useful information, suggesting conclusions and supporting decision-making.
  3. IT for Green and Signal Analysis: IT for Green is defined as the scientific study of efficient and effective designing, managing and using of energy-aware systems and applications. The study uses science to create technologies that would help to preserve natural resources and reduce the harmful impact on the environment.
The MISG group has at its disposal three showrooms, which correspond to the three main scientific compentences domains. More information on the laboratories as well as on the concept of smart environment can be found in the section Showroom.
